Three years ago, we packed up our lives and moved to sunny San Diego, where we found ourselves the proud owners of a home with a thriving orchard—30+ citrus trees bursting with fruit. The only catch? We had absolutely no experience caring for an orchard. But we were eager to learn, and with a lot of trial and error (and plenty of citrus-scented hands), we slowly figured it out.

Before long, we realized we had more fruit than we could possibly eat, and we hated the idea of it going to waste. That’s when my mom gifted us a food dehydrator, and everything changed. Drying our fruit became more than just a way to preserve it—it became a process we truly loved. There’s something special about harvesting each piece, carefully preparing it, and seeing it transform into something beautiful and long-lasting.

As we experimented, we discovered endless creative uses for dried citrus—from crafting and decorating to enhancing drinks and recipes. It didn’t take long for us to realize we wanted to share this joy with others.

And that’s how Jensen Family Farms was born.
